AI Smart & Safe: a warm, practical introduction for primary schools and parents.
Understand AI. Use it safely. Question its output. Use it to learn. Create responsibly.
Children increasingly encounter AI in search, learning apps, recommended content and generative tools. An AI answer can sound friendly and certain while being wrong. A picture can look real without showing something that happened.
AI Smart & Safe gives children language for those experiences. They learn that AI is a tool made by people, that it has limits and that a trusted adult remains important. The aim is curiosity with care, rather than technical vocabulary or unsupervised access.
Teachers can lead demonstrations, conversations and activities using fictional examples. Children do not need to share their own names, photographs or school details to take part.

Ask “How do we know?” Compare an answer with a class resource, observation or an adult’s explanation.
Keep passwords, addresses, photographs and private stories out of prompts. Stop and ask an adult when something feels wrong.
Brainstorm a story or learning activity, add original thinking and avoid using AI to mislead or hurt another person.
Identify familiar examples and talk about people making and using technology.
Discuss a useful answer and a wrong one. Practise asking how we would check.
Explore explanations and practice questions while keeping the child’s own work central.
Sort fictional information into “safe example” and “ask an adult first”.
Discuss examples and practise checking the source rather than relying on appearances.
Choose when to question, stop or get help. Rehearse respectful, responsible decisions.
Recall the key safety habits and explain one action to use at school or home.
Ask a child to explain one thing AI can get wrong and one piece of information they should keep private. Encourage them to describe how they checked an answer, rather than celebrating how quickly a tool produced it.
Share 10 AI safety rules, the parent guide to AI at home and our explanation of what primary AI literacy should include.
Responsible AI literacy comes first. Once children and adults understand safe use, schools and families can explore KidyAI, an optional AI-powered learning product from BritaCore. Choosing a learning tool should include reviewing its current age suitability, privacy information and supervision needs.
Explore the product already listed in BritaCore’s portfolio, or visit KidyAI. Ask BritaCore about suitability for your school through the contact options below.
No. Teacher-led demonstrations and offline activities can teach the core habits. Any later tool use should follow current provider age requirements and the school’s rules.
The core habits can support parent conversations as well as school learning. Tell BritaCore the audience and learner stage when requesting a session.
Tell us your school or institution name, your name, role, preferred phone or email, and the program you are interested in. County or location is optional. No long explanation is needed.
Choose AI Smart & Safe, AI Ready, AI for Educators, AI Builder or Not Sure Yet. BritaCore will discuss dates, suitability and arrangements with you.
Email opens your email app with a short enquiry template. If it does not open, write to info@britacore.com or use the details on our contact page. An enquiry does not reserve a session or cohort place.
